Athens Community Soccer's youth program for kids aged 6 to 12 is back for Spring 2015. There are a couple of changes to the program this year, so please take a look at the information below.
If your child is eligible for the GASA League (7th grade to 9th grade), then your child is not eligible to play in our 6-12 year old program.
When
Saturday mornings from 10am until 11am. Spring sessions run from April 11th until May 30th. Fall sessions run from August 22nd until October 31st.
Format
Each session starts with 25 - 30 minutes of training and ends with a 25 - 30 minute small sided game. This year the program will be run by two different coaches each week. The coaches will be different players from each of our Adult League 1 or League 2 teams. The goal of our program this year is to provide opportunities for the kids to learn unique and different skills from experienced players.
Who should sign up?
Any young soccer player, whether you are playing in the Athens City or Alexander Recreational programs, in a travel or club team, the kids will learn new techniques and skills as part of this program. The program is also well suited to kids who play other sports but would like to occassionally play soccer. The program works well for kids who need to learn basic techniques or need assistance improving their game.
The program costs $20 for the year (January - December), this covers ACS 2015 Youth membership and enables your child to also participate in other programs such as Saturday Futsal.
For convenience, the program is run simultanously with our program for kids aged 3-6, so that parents do not need to spend two hours at the fields each week.
Summer Tournament Games
Participates are eligible to play in Summer Tournament games, if there is sufficient interest and enough players, Athens Community Soccer will field tournament teams for events during the summer, including friendly games with other SAY clubs.
