League Two is our non-competitive recreational League at Athens Community Soccer. The League provides a qualified referee for each game. All games are played with FIFA approved equipment and the current FIFA Laws of the Game apply with some amendments (no slide tackling, stricter enforcement of dangerous play etc). 

League Two is a non-competitive recreational League for Adult players aged 18+. Players are expected to behave in a friendly, professional and non-aggressive manner. Players are expected to respect the wide range of skills and physical ability of players in League Two and to play in a manner which keeps the game fun for everyone.

The format for League Two:

  • Official FIFA Rules
  • 50 minute games (25 per half)
  • 3 minute half-time
  • 7v7 (8v8 when possible)
  • Co-Ed
  • Offsides
  • No Slide Tackling
  • No Challenging Goal Keepers on 50-50 balls
  • No aggressive charging by Goal Keepers
  • Shin Guards Required
  • Unlimited Substitutions (on dead ball)
  • All players must be REGISTERED 2017 ACS Adult Members
 
Prohibitive Behavior Includes but is not limited to:

  • Slide Tackling
  • Dangerous Play
  • Challenging Goal Keepers on 50-50 balls inside the box
  • Aggressive Charging by Goal Keepers
  • Abusive Language
  • Complaining or Arguing over referee decisions
  • Unsporting Behavior
  • Retaliation
  • Attempting to play with non-regulation equipment
Please note that the referee's decision is final, arguing with the officials over calls is
not going to get the call changed. If you have a complaint about a particular call, please
follow the following procedure:
  • Notify your team captain at half-time or at the end of the game
  • The team captain may ask the referee at the end of the game to explain the call
  • Wait 24 hours from the end of game
  • Have your team captain submit your complaint in writing to - athenscommunitysoccer@gmail.com
Anyone caught arguing with the officials during or after the game will be subject to the following:
  • Verbal warning from the referee on the first infraction
  • Yellow card from the referee on the second infraction (dissent)
  • Final verbal warning from the referee for any infractions following a yellow card
  • Second Yellow Card and subsequent Red card on the fourth infraction
